Strain/Counterstrain, Positional Release Techniques and many similar modalities developed by the greats of the massage world have contributed to a more gentle system of providing relief by putting spasming|hypertonic muscles into a Position of Ease.
This course is a nod to Leon Chaitow, Lawrence Jones and many others who discovered simple and gentle techniques to reset muscles.
This is a class for clinically minded practitioners, providing an overview of techniques within Position of Ease.
You will learn how to apply them, targeting the low back and hips and how to integrate the practice into your current clinical work.
Students must have some clinical experience in massage therapy in order to really benefit from this course. This material will work seamlessly within any clinical massage session.
In this class you will:
▸ Learn/review how to assess and identify postural imbalances in the hips, pelvis, and lumbar spine.
▸ How to apply Position of Ease Techniques to reset spasming/ tight muscles to balance hips, pelvis, and lumbar spine.
"Positional release therapy is an excellent adjunct to the practice of massage therapy, because it allows the massage therapist to first unwind tissue prior to manipulating it, making massage less painful and more effective, and its therapeutic effects longer-lasting."
