Reflexology for Trauma & Addiction - Level 2
This 2-day workshop provides 14 ARCB & NCBTMB CEUs.
In addition to deepening our understanding of Level I components, techniques, and methodology, students will learn the following:
- Somatosensory system anatomy and what that looks like in our bodies as we hold space for self and others; including, attunement and limbic resonance with exercises to integrate synchronous movement with clients;
- Understanding what may be affected by traumatic stress and the areas of the brain responsible for filtering, self-awareness, inhibition, judgment/discernment, emotional regulation, timing and context. Intermediate anatomy and physiology for specific brain structures affected by trauma and addiction, including the differentiation between certain cortices.
- An examination of survival response and recovery in animals and humans;
- Understanding cross addiction, dual diagnosis, and comorbidity of early chronic trauma;
- History of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE’s) and the Diagnostic & Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM);
- Synthesizing visual, auditory, and behavioral information in clients while cultivating awareness of practitioner state;
- Subtle rotations and techniques in hand reflexology sessions;
- New foot reflexology methods, techniques, and "subtle holds" for a detailed and integrative session.
