This class is not teaching Traditional Thai Bodywork. Acupressure, energetics, energy pathways or meridians will not be covered. Ryan Sullivan is excited to share his adaptation of the specific Thai techniques (passive stretches, joint mobilization, compression and traction) to our current table-based massage therapy, as often requested by students of his popular Cupping Therapy classes. All techniques in this class are within the Scope of Practice and Definition of Massage Therapy in the GA Board of Massage Therapy Rules and GA law.

Thai Style Table Massage

Thai Table Massage is an elegant use of ancient techniques that have been adapted for our modern environment and scope of practice as licensed massage therapists. Incorporating the sophisticated stretches, presses, traction, and flowing movements on the massage table, our treatments become more dynamic and engaging for the therapist and client, with greater body awareness. This approach is often more effective and efficient than our standard massage modalities, alone. Certainly more fun!

Learn to use your body more dynamically and with greater ease. You will complete the class feeling confident and ready to work with your clients both fully-clothed as well as properly and securely draped.

Recipients will feel relaxed and rejuvenated through the elegant flow of presses and compressions, passive stretches and positions. Techniques and sequences will be learned as both stand-alone treatments, as well as easily incorporated into your current massage practices. History, theory and cultural context will also be covered, comprehensive handouts provided.

This class is ideal for those seeking greater personal fulfillment and ease in your own body's movement, expanding your ability to heal and restore others, and to how to move beyond our traditional massage techniques and body positioning.

You will discover how to use your body's movement in ways not often seen in typical western massage.

All levels of experience are welcome! Ryan's teaching methods allow for rapid progress no matter the experience level.
