Structural Alignment for Treatment and Pain Relief
- a clinical and sports approach.
This two-day class focuses on the principles and philosophies of Eastern European style integrated sports massage.
The East Europeans have been using massage at athletic events since 1927. The work is based on scientific and medical investigations dating back to 1881.
The class will present both pre and post-event techniques including multiple types of effleurage, friction, vibration, range of motion and muscle energy. Also being covered will be the effects of massage on the skin, muscle, connective tissue, tendon, ligament, joints and nervous systems. Each massage stroke is designed to produce specific results.
We will cover both Pre and Post-event techniques, injuries, heat and cold applications, neurological and structural assessments. These applications will apply to both professional, world and weekend athletes. All techniques are designed to be pain-free for both the athlete as well as the therapist.
This is a hands-on class, please wear comfortable, loose clothing/shorts as we will be both assessing and correcting distortions or dysfunctions.
