Thai Style Mat Massage

Working on a cushioned mat at ground level, you will observe, practice, and experience sequences of passive stretching, compressions and joint mobilizations, utilizing both your hands and feet. Ryan will watch closely to ensure you learn healthy body mechanics and assist with any limitations you may encounter.
While this is not a Traditional Thai Massage class, we borrow and adapt what Thai Massage is most renowned for, its elegant flow and sophisticated stretches. It is truly unlike most other massage styles, complimenting our table work in ways our clients will certainly appreciate.
The therapeutic results are second to none and can be accomplished with clients fully clothed.
Learning to work effectively without a massage table opens new possibilities to offer quality massage sessions any environment, with confidence. And, without the burden of carrying your massage table!
This class will focus on full-body treatment in supine, prone, and side lying positions.
The majority of class time (80%) is dedicated to hands-on practice, giving and receiving massage. You walk away feeling refreshed, inspired, and confident to integrate this work into your practice the moment you leave.
Your instructor, Ryan Sullivan, has been practicing Thai Massage since 2009, and has dedicated himself to continuous and deep study of massage and bodywork. He has studied with many teachers and styles, and finds joy in integrating ancient style into modern practices. Thai Massage is effective no matter where you work, whether a spa, in clients' homes, or anywhere in between.

- Sanitizing and cleaning supplies
- Cold/hot filtered water and herbal teas
- Comfortable clothes that allows for unrestricted movement
- Yoga mat
- Flat sheet, twin size or larger
- Pillow
- Any snacks, beverage, food needed.
