Balancing the Shoulder Girdle, Injury Prevention and Rehabilitation
April 25, 2020 @ 10:00 am - April 26, 2020 @ 3:00 pm$20 – $250
This class is now offered online LIVE, a virtual class via Zoom, scheduled over 3 days.
UPDATES from Ann Pauley
This class been approved to be offered 'Virtual Live' through NTBCMB.
Since we can't hold classes in-person, this is the ONLY live option right now. And, I am happy to help you get your CE's! Being a massage therapist, I sure do miss touching folks and helping them get out of pain.
Since the class will be virtual, It will be offered over 3 days, instead of two.
The dates are April 24-26. This is a LIVE Class through Zoom, , not a prerecorded home study class. I WILL be there with you and watching you and providing feedback, just like an in-person class. (Well, almost)
See this video for all the details.
Four things you need to know or have to get credit for this class:
1. You MUST have a laptop with a webcam and audio capabilities - so I can see & hear you to make sure you are getting and understanding the information.
2. You MUST have someone to work on during designated times so you can practice the work and I can see that you are doing it correctly. If you don't have anyone to work on, wait to take a live, in-person class.
3. You MUST have a massage table and sheets
4. IF YOU ARE NEW TO CLINICAL MASSAGE, THIS COURSE IS NOT FOR YOU! - As much as I would love to teach you, virtually is not a good way to have me support you when you are new to clinical massage. Please take one of my live, in-person classes.
I WILL limit this class to 10 students so I can make sure I am present with each of you.
Here is the class schedule and the specific hands-on times to have someone available to work on:
Day 1, April 24: 10 am - 3:00 pm= 4 CE hrs. (1-hour lunch break)
Hand-on observed practice: 11:30 am - 12 pm and 1:45-3:00 pm: Students will need someone to work on.
Day 2, April 25: 10 am - 2:30 pm= 4 CE hrs. (30 min. lunch break)
Hand-on observed practice: 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm: Students will need someone to work on.
Day 3, April 26: 10 am - 2:30 pm= 4 CE hrs. (30 min. lunch break)
Hand-on observed practice: 10:45 am - 12:15 pm and 12:45 - 2:30 pm: Students will need someone to work on.
The Georgia board of Massage isn't meeting again until May or June, so I am not sure if this class will be counted as 'hands-on' in Georgia, BUT, I will record this course and have proof that you did do the hands-on work to help get it approved. No guarantees, however. If you live outside of Georgia, Please check with your state to see if it will qualify as a 'hands-on' class.
Boost your massage career to the next level by learning how to balance the most mobile joint in the human body.
This course was developed to create a deeper understanding of physical imbalances in the shoulder girdle to prevent or rehab injuries. Throughout this training, you will learn the anatomy of the shoulder girdle, assessment for muscular imbalances, Rotator Cuff orthopedic tests and a massage protocol for balancing the shoulder girdle.
